Odd Old Things
Raised in Canada, Phyllis Green began a career as an artist, educator and curator in Los Angeles in 1981. Although she has worked in video and performance, she is primarily a sculptor who represents the body. Her work has been exhibited extensively for forty years. It has been recognized by artist fellowships from the NEA, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, City of Los Angeles (COLA), City of Santa Monica, California Community Foundation and the J.S. Guggenheim Foundation, among others. Green has taught in the art departments of Loyola Marymount University, UCLA and USC, all in Los Angeles, since 1989.
