Works by Debra Scacco study lines of lineage, passage and policy. With a focus on the complex connections between histories of erasure, immigration and the climate crisis, the work centres historic and contemporary stories of how individuals are impacted by lines. Working collaboratively with community members, archives and organizational partners, Scacco creates engaging multi-disciplinary experiences that draw a direct line between past and present, and clearly connect policy to person. Through focussing on lesser-known histories, projects by Debra Scacco highlight the lines that are often undocumented, unarchived and silenced.
